I'll start by sharing that I'm not a typical "reviewer" who feels compelled to comment every time that I contract with a company to get a job done. I'm writing this review because I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the staff of James Landscaping, and hopefully my review will give someone else peace of mind that they too are making the right choice to contract with them. From beginning to end the customer experience has been fantastic. Meeting with Denise, Jessica, Shannon  and the whole team on the design was great. They listened to what we wanted and made appropriate changes and recommendations. Working with Tereso and his crew to bring our backyard to life was equally enjoyable. The crew cleaned up every day and communicated with me every step of the way. Follow up communication with pictures of the progress (while we were on vacation) were greatly appreciated. We finally came home to an almost finished backyard and were blown away by the results.They put in an extensive dry creek bed to alleviate water runoff from the neighbors, built flower beds, installed stone walkways with lighting, and put in brand new flowers, shrubs and sod. Everything looks great. The sod is absolutely incredible. The new sprinklers they installed are working perfectly and even when we had a small hiccup with one sprinkler head they showed up within 24hrs and had it fixed. That's customer service! The Texas heat has certainly hurt the growth of some of the new vegetation, but they are already prepared to replace those plants this fall. If you are contemplating on whether to work with JL or some other company, I'm here to tell you don't waste your time. I got several competing bids and thought about saving money and going with another company, but I'm gald I made the choice to hire JL. Yes, it was not cheap, but the job got done and more importantly, it got done correctly. Yeah I could have probably saved a few thousand dollars, but I'm not sure the end result and the attention to details would have been the same using someone else. From the initial consultation, to them listening to our needs, their recommendations and planning, communication and ultimately the crews who are so attentive to detail and respectful of our property, they were a joy to work with every step of the way. We are implementing the plan in small phases and continue to be impressed with everyone from the design team, office staff and the hard working installation teams. I enthusiastically recommend James Landscaping. While our project was fairly small, it was critical that it was done correctly. Our entire interaction with this company was everything we would’ve dreamed it to be. From the initial on-site meeting, to presentation of the design, and to construction. We have been in our home and property for 23+ years.  We have used many Landscape Companies and have never been satisfied until we discovered James Landscaping.  We had a large scope (our property is over 7 acres) and spent about half a day walking the property and discussing our thoughts.  When we received the design, it was almost perfect!  But we knew the design was the “easy” part…the execution of the design was the difficult and more important part of the project.  Well, we can hardly find the right words for how smooth the installation happened!  The installation Team was absolutely amazing!  The Supervisors communicated great during the project but what really exceeded our expectations was the very few questions they had to ask us.  That was because the Design was so well documented, the install Team had a near perfect roadmap to make the design come to life.  All members of the team were friendly, professional and had a strong desire to satisfy our needs.  They also exhibited tremendous respect for our property.  They were careful with driving their large trailers and they cleaned up the property EVERY day during the install!  That’s right!  They cleaned up every single day!  One of the biggest challenges we’ve had with other Landscapers was poor planting techniques which resulted in plants dying.  This is one of James Landscaping’s biggest strengths.  They took great care when preparing the beds before planting. They removed about 8-10 inches of soil and replaced with an excellent mix of soil and compost.  We know this will result in all the plants developing strong roots for lasting health in our crazy Texas weather. We highly recommend James Landscaping for your landscaping projects especially very large ones.  Unfortunately we know the initial and ongoing costs of poor landscaping (especially for large properties). James Landscaping performed a complete rework of our landscaping in 2022.  They prepared and implemented a design that included major bed preparation and irrigation system work, new plantings, addition of a fountain and installation of lighting.  The entire James team was professional, courteous and easy to work with. They were in constant communication with us as to the status of the project and when to expect teams at our home.
