DON’T LET EXCESS WATER FLOOD YOUR SPACE
We install French drains, retainer walls to create terraced planting areas, dry creek beds and swales. James Landscaping, Inc. will evaluate your drainage problems and create a plan that will address your particular drainage problem. A former eyesore can very well become a place of interest and enjoyment.
RAIN GARDENS are another way to handle drainage issues and for you to personally contribute to cleaner water. A rain garden is a landscaped area planted with flowers and other native vegetation that soak up rain water. The rain garden fills with a few inches of water after a storm and the water slowly filters into the ground rather than running off to a storm drain. Compared to a conventional patch of lawn, a rain garden allows about 30% more water to soak into the ground.
If the rainwater was harvested and kept on the homeowner’s and commercial properties, the water would percolate down into the soil where the earth would act as a filter. The soil has a remarkable ability to break down many harmful substances and decompose them. The much cleaner water passes through to the ground water where it will recharge the aquifer and eventually make its way back to the rivers, lakes and other reservoirs. The water that returns through this route is much cleaner, better for water life and requires less chemicals to prepare for human consumption.
